Showing Now
Stay tuned for upcoming exihibits at South 4th in the fall. I will post a call for artists here…
I curate exhibitions at South 4th Bar & Café in Brooklyn, New York. Bringing together local artists from Brooklyn and Queens, I have organized over eight group exhibitions at South 4th. The exchange between art and community fostered by the owners of South 4th creates a successful atmosphere for the exposure of emerging artists.
Of Interest

Earlier this year, I participated in an experimental exhibition on the value of art co-curated by AUGUST art, a London art space, and Giacomo Picca.
Featured Work

Phone Home (2007): A mixed media installation at Local Project for the exhibition “Secrets of Queens.” This site specific work is a proportionally correct map of Queens constructed out of phone cards used by Queens residents to call home to their countries of origin. I collected discarded phone cards for two years with the intention of creating this piece. The phone cards typically depict culturally specific locations, such as a famous monument (e.g. the Taj Mahal for a card used to call India) and are printed in a variety of languages. This installation refers not only to New York’s most diverse borough, but to the constantly changing face of the U.S., global economics, and the interconnectedness of the world.
